Handwoven Cotton Napkins- Turicuaro

$ 15.00

These large cotton napkins are handwoven on a backstrap loom by Purepecha weavers in the Michoacán village of Turícuaro. They are made by the same women who make our beautiful cotton rebozos and come in a variety of colors. These are perfect for wrapping up tortillas or bread, and can also be used for a place mat or small table covering. Due to the delicate nature of the hand knotted fringe, these pieces must be hand washed and hung to dry (they dry very quickly) in order to keep them looking beautiful.

Approximately 14 in. x 18 in.

Our stock varies. Please contact us if you have a specific color request or would like to order a quantity.

I have bought these for years - first on the border and in Patzcuaro - now from Mexico by Hand. They do not require ironing if line dried or taken from the dryer promptly. I do not use paper napkins and these are perfect. I use the undyed ones so no fading either.

Glad you found us, Julia! We love these napkins too, and lately other customers have discovered them as well, so they're hard to keep in stock. They're difficult to get also...I guess that makes them even more special.
