Tequileros/Copitas from Tzintzuntzan

$ 8.00

A new item in our website's copita collection! They were made by Juan Miguel Teniente Morales (part of the younger generation of the famous Gamez Morales family) as he innovates on the pottery of Tzintzuntzan with traditional black designs on a cream color background. They're rustic and charming-- and are also lead-free!

Capacity 2 oz. Minimum order of 2 cups--you choose!

Are these a gift? Add a handwoven box to make a beautiful set! Also, our large tortilla baskets hold four copitas beautifully for easy storage! You'll find them here: https://mexico-by-hand.myshopify.com/collections/frontpage/products/handwoven-tortilla-basket-w-lid

A joy to behold

I have several of these copitas, and they add to the festive atmosphere when enjoying some Mexican spirits. Friends always comment and compliment my set, and so I know they'd be a great gift.

The size and shape are perfect and the porous nature of the clay adds a welcome earthy taste, and if you like your tequila a bit cooler than room temperature, let it sit for a bit and the clay does its science magic and pulls a bit of heat out as it absorbs a bit of the drink.

The craftmanship is evident with the confident brushstrokes that make the design, the attention to details like smooth and uniform glazing and shaping. For example, the rim is thinner than I imagined which makes drinking (and shooting, actually) feel more refined.

This review may be a bit too geeky, but you don't have to know physics or tequila production to love these copitas. Also, shout out to Peggy who is such a great business owner to buy from. Great customer service as always!

Thanks for that wonderful review!
So glad you're enjoying your copitas. They ARE incredibly popular and we are constantly having to reorder them!
