In a couple of weeks we'll be heading to Michoacán to buy more artesanía, and as I've mentioned before, the prices on everything continue to rise. The biggest increase by far is with textiles. So while we in the U.S. see cheap clothing from China and elsewhere at Old Navy and Target costing sometimes less than we paid five years ago, the cost of a handmade embroidered blouse in Michoacán has actually doubled. So, the gorgeous blouses now on our website are in fact a real bargain. Like really inexpensive. You might be able to get one of these beauties yourself at the listed price today-- but you'd have to pay at least $500 for your flight, spend more money on hotels, and search for weeks to find this quality. So...this is my way of suggesting you take advantage of our Spring of '24 prices and go for it now! I understand you might be hesitating to buy clothing online-- I get it. If you need advice on sizing, we're here to help!
We hand select these pieces and the quality is extraordinary. It takes a lot of time to make them and they will last for years, even decades. Nothing fast about these. I personally have blouses from Michoacán that I've worn for twenty years and have machine washed and dried dozens of times. I love them. And of course your purchase helps support the indigenous women in Mexico who make them.
