Most of us know how to search for places or products online, and though we can usually get information in seconds, it often takes a bit more time to find out whether that airline ticket price displayed at the top when googling is for real or not. Yes, it can be annoying, but lately some very nice folks have found us and have become Mexico By Hand customers-- thanks to the google machine. Every once in a while I will do a search of copper cazos--the traditional Mexican hammered pot used for making carnitas among other things. Mexico By Hand lands pretty high up there, but above us is Amazon (of course) which has several sellers listed, including one with some VERY bad reviews. There's a reputable cookware company below them that has copper cazos listed, but hasn't had them in stock for YEARS. I guess that listing will live forever on the internet, whether it's helpful to customers or not. And then there's a Walmart listing for a stainless steel "cazo"-- sorry, but that's not a cazo.
I hope you won't buy a cazo through Amazon. We sell them in three sizes: 12 inch, 14 inch, and 16 inch diameter. Ours are heavy duty professional grade, made by artisans in Santa Clara del Cobre. Roberto and his family workshop have made dozens of cazos for our customers over the years, and personally pack and safely ship them from Mexico to your door, usually arriving in about 10 days.
You can order easily here on our website, and if you scroll down you can see some very positive reviews : https://mexico-by-hand.myshopify.com/collections/hammered-copper/products/hammered-copper-cazo-cooking-pot
